"Using Wireless Networks for Economic Development in the San Joaquin Valley", Seth Fearey, President of Connected Communities,

One of the richest agricultural regions in the world, the San Joaquin Valley, needs more New Economy businesses. Today's technology-based enterprises, including agriculture, require easy, affordable access to advanced communications services - wireline and wireless. Seth Fearey described four scenarios for communications infrastructure, including ideas for applications of wireless networks.

"Distribution of personalized audio content by wireless". Kim Fisher, CEO and Co-Founder of AudioBasket.com

Ms Fisher explained how the development of new high speed wireless data delivery to mobiles (coupled with mobiles equipped with embedded MP3 audio players) makes practical a vision of supplying individuals with customized audio news and information. Using audio for content delivery has the additional benefit of overcoming the limitations of viewing text on small screens. She described the challenges faced by AudioBasket.com in launching a service to make this vision a reality.
