THE JULY MEETING of the Wireless Communication Alliance (WCA) took place Tuesday, July 18, 2000, from 4:00 PM - 6:30PM at Hewlett-Packard in CUPERTINO.

THIS MONTH'S AGENDA

July's program was our annual panel discussion of Wireless Semiconductor Product Markets and State of the Art of Wireless Semiconductor Design. This years emphasis was on wireless connectivity for data communications. The panel contained representatives from companies with various disciplines such as RF chip test, RF chip design tools, semiconductor design and manufacturing, and Semiconductor Intellectul Property.The panel members discussed tomorrow's issues related to semiconductor applications and design in wireless systems.

Each presenter was given about 10-15 minutes to discuss their products and views of the state of the art of wireless semiconductors as applied to wireless data connectivity systems.

The panel was be led by Roy Richards of Toshiba and Francie Miller of Metricom who stimulated discussion questions related to the direction of the technology.
