Vito Palmieri, Managing Director, Airtouch presented "Key Areas Driving Wireless Product Development."
Drivers like wireline migration, increased competition, and government mandates have caused skyrocketing cellular penetration as well as the need for wireless product differentiation. Mr. Palmieri shared his thoughts on how Airtouch has successfully offered new voice and data products while engaged in competitive marketplace wars. By looking at today's customer needs and predicting tomorrow's, he offered his thoughts on the changing face of the wireless industry.
Mika Nuotio, Director, Cadence Design presented: "Third Generation Chip Market."

In order for next generation wireless cellular to reach its goals, semiconductor design and implementation must occur. Mr. Nuotio described the status of these wireless chip and product efforts. Additionally, he updated us on 3G standards activity and gave competitive picture of who is supplying and who is demanding 3G capabilities in the marketplace.
