The WCA, a nonprofit corporation, is dedicated to the mutual benefit of area companies and organizations involved in wireless communications technologies.
The program for the meeting was a panel of "experts" on the topic "New Generation Si/GaAs Modules for Wireless Datacomm System Design" moderated by Wayne Moyers.
Each panelist presented a statement of product offerings. This included a description of wireless component/chipset/module capabilities and applications for next generation systems. A system designer's perspective was then presented by Dr. Jaime Tenedorio, Director of Engineering of Diablo Research Corp. The panel was be questioned by the moderator and by the audience on such topics as cost & performance tradeoffs of discretes vs. chipset & modules, timing for compliance with coming standards, and availability of low cost integrated assemblies for 5 GHz bands. Product literature was distributed.
Panelists included:
-
- - Dr. Charles Campbell, MMIC Designer - GaAs Products, Texas Inst.
- Bill Chung, Dir, Mktg & Sales - MW Semiconductors, Samsung Elect.
- Scott Gardner, Mktg Mgr, Comm Products & Cliff Vaughan, Mktg Mgr,
