Boeing has been working with RFID for over 5 years,
with extensive research in factory, supply chain and
on aircraft applications This presentation will
discuss Boeing’s approach to the DoD mandate and how
they are supporting the Defense Department’s strategy,
how the technology is being applied within Boeing
today, and the direction they are taking with their
supply chain partners. Boeing will also discuss how
they are working pilots within their supply base to
understand the implications this technology will have
on small businesses.
Steve Georgevitch
Steve has over nineteen years of aerospace operations
experience, from first line supervisor to Senior
Manager of Supply Chain Technology. In this current
position, Steve is responsible for research and
development of technologies and processes to support
the needs of the Supply Chain organization. These
responsibilities include partnering with technology
providers, learning institutions and professional
societies. For the past two years, Steve has been
leading the Boeing Company in the advancement of RFID
technology to support Supply Chain Management. He
also has been working closely with the Department of
Defense Automated Identification Technology (AIT)
teams in support of DoD policies relating to AIT
Technologies.
Steve is an active Board Member of St. Louis
University’s Supply Chain Management Consortium,
representing The Boeing Company, where he is co-leader
of a Special Interest Group (SIG) in the area of RFID,
and also serves on the Professional Development
Committee.
