RFID for Beverage Management
Tricia James
Vice President of Marketing
Capton, Inc. |
|
|
|
--Tricia James is the Vice President Marketing for Capton Inc. Headquartered in San Francisco , Capton is a leading developer of RFID-based business control solutions for hospitality. Capton solutions are installed in hotels, restaurants, nightclubs and bars, resorts, casinos, cruise lines, sports stadiums and many other types of hospitality venues across the United States and around the world.
Capton(TM)'s signature solution, Beverage Tracker, involves deployment of a patented, spout-based RFID device that accurately measures what brand was poured and how many ounces goes into every drink. The system records the pouring activity and provides reports to beverage managers to spot over pouring and other bar practices which contribute to more than $7billion in shrinkage annually, as reported by the National Restaurant Association.
Tricia will discuss the RFID techonology behind Capton's products, give a brief demonstration of its signature Beverage Tracker solution, and talk about how the environment for mistakes in free-pour bar operations changes dramatically with the implementation of a Capton system.
SPEAKER: Tricia James
Bringing over twenty-five years of multi-national marketing experience to Capton, Tricia's responsibilities include strategic marketing, branding and business development. Tricia joined the Capton executive team in early 2006, with recent and extensive experience in the exact RFID hospitality marketplace in which Capton operates.
Prior to these RFID-related start-up ventures, Tricia founded and managed several successful companies, including; Passport Services, an executive concierge service with offices in San Francisco, New York and Vancouver, catering to corporate VIP travelers; and the South of Market Business Association (SOMBA), a politically powerful 1,500 member organization charged with boosting business interests for the South of Market area in San Francisco from 1985 to 1990.
In between these endeavors, Tricia has been a marketing and public relations strategy consultant to multi-national corporations, hotel and restaurant chains. She has also produced business conferences, corporate seminars and high-profile special events around the world.
Tricia is currently a board director and speaker for The American Institue of Ethics. She has served as a Commissioner for Small Business Affairs, appointed by three different Mayors, for the city and county of San Franciso. She maintains active membership in a number of hospitality-related associations and is a frequent speaker on panels at hospitality technology industry trade shows and conferences.
Tricia holds degrees in Linguistics and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from the University of California at Berkeley and the University of California at Los Angeles. She served as an intern at the United Nations in New York and subsequently lived and worked in the Middle East as a marketing representative for an international publisher of English language teaching materials.
